Number of Values Per Line
The Number of values per line options determine the number of x values per line for each grid row. Select Automatic to have each grid row use one line in the text file. Select Fixed to specify the number of values on each line in the text file.
When Fixed is selected, the Values per line option is enabled. Type the desired number of values per line in the Values per line field or click the button to change the value.
Blank Line Between Grid Rows
Check the Blank line between grid rows to include a blank line between grid rows in the text file. When Blank line between grid rows is not checked the Text GRD file will not have any blank lines.
Numeric Format
The Numeric format section determines how the grid z values are represented in the grid file. To change the format type click the current selection in the Type field and select Exponential, Fixed, or Compact from the list.
- Exponential writes the grid z values in scientific notation. Specify the number of decimal digits by typing a value into the Decimal digits field. Alternatively click the button to change the Decimal digits value.
- Fixed writes the grid z values with a fixed number of decimal digits. Specify the number decimal digits by typing a value into the Decimal digits field. Alternatively click the button to change the Decimal digits value.
- Compact writes the grid z values with the fewest possible number of characters, subject to the Significant digits value. Once the Significant digits limit is met, decimal values are rounded up. For example with 4 Significant digits, the value 12.345 is written 12.35 in the text file. When the Significant digits limit is met by the integer part of a number, scientific notation is used for the value. For example with 4 significant digits, the value 12345.67 is written 1.235e+04 in the text file.
The Sample displays a preview of the selected number format options.
