Layer Definition

A logical grouping of objects in a drawing. (Example: All electrical lines might be in a layer named "Electrical" and all water pipes might be in a layer named "Water.") Layers may overlay one another. Layer visibility can be toggled on or off.

In Surfer each new map created is considered a layer. Multiple map layers can be arranged in a single map frame. Additional map layers can be added to existing map layers. May layers can be re-arranged in the Contents window. Map layers can be visible or invisible.
