Field Delimiter
Normally the data fields in a ZMAP grid file are of fixed size and separated by spaces or tabs. But this is not required by the ZMAP grid format. When the Delimit fields with whitespace instead of using the fixed field width specified in the file header box is unchecked, most ZMAP grid files will be imported into Surfer correctly. Checking the box allows files to be read where the fields are not separated by spaces or tabs. By default, this box is unchecked.
Skip Non-Standard Fields
Most ZMAP grid files have a set number of fields on each line. Some non-conforming ZMAP grid files contain additional placeholders after the set number of fields. These fields are ignored when the Don't skip remaining fields on a line after the last field of a data column box is checked. When unchecked, these additional fields are imported as the first several fields of the next row. By default, this box is unchecked.
