Metamorph .STK File Description

Surfer imports lattice data from Metamorph .STK data sets.

A Metamorph .STK data set contains one or more stacked bitmap images A bitmap is a screen image displayed as an array of dots or "bits." Generally speaking, software generates either bitmapped (raster) or object-oriented (vectored) files, or sometimes a combination of the two. (slices). This file format has historically been used to record data from some makes of confocal scanning microscopes.

Loading .STK Files

Metamorph .STK files can be loaded to create a grid based map (i.e. Home | New Map | Contour) with the Open Grid dialog, or when using the functions in the Grid menu.
