RAW Binary Lattice File Description
Surfer imports and exports uniform lattices from raw (untyped) binary files. The lattice dimensions and several other aspects of the file format can be controlled.
Since this filter works with the headerless/untyped files, it is important to knows what options are appropriate for the data in question.
The RAW file is a simple headerless binary file consisting of lattice nodes arranged according to the export options that were selected when the file was created. No specific file name extension is required, but .RAW and .BIN are commonly used for these files.
Loading .ERS Files
.RAW files can be loaded to create a grid based map (i.e. Home | New Map | Contour) with the Open Grid dialog, or when using the functions in the Grid menu.
Saving Files
Use the Grids | Edit | Convert command in the plot document, or File | Save | Save As in the Grid Editor to export .ERS files. Alternatively, the ER Mapper .ERS file format is available when prompted to save a grid file.
